Since December 2022 Moonen Packaging may call itself a 'B Corporation': an impactful company that shows that as a business you can make social and sustainable impact and be a commercially successful company . The B Corp™ certificate is the result of a months-long assessment. With this certification, Moonen Packaging shows that it is among the leaders in the field of sustainability and social responsibility. The company therefore joins +/- 6000 companies worldwide, 184 of which are in the Netherlands.
The CSR Performance Ladder makes sustainable development of an organization concrete, objective and demonstrable. Its performance is measured by external auditor BSI. In 2014, Moonen Packaging became the first company in its sector to achieve level 3 on the CSR Performance Ladder. Since then, we have continued to invest in making our organization more sustainable, both in terms of personnel, logistics, products and internal operations. Our stakeholders are also actively involved in making us more sustainable. In 2015, Moonen Packaging received the CSR Performance Ladder level 4.
EcoVadis is an international organization and is known as a global platform for the registration and validation of sustainable performance. Moonen Packaging was rated by EcoVadis in 2022 on its CO2 emissions, paper reduction, safety, ethical business practices, supplier testing and much more. This year, we achieved the highest attainable EcoVadis Platinum rating! With this Platinum status, Moonen Packaging belongs to the best 1% of all organizations surveyed.
This nationwide program by Connekt represents the highest achievable award for leaders in sustainable logistics. In 2012, Moonen Packaging received its first Star. The program aims to structurally reduce CO2 emissions within logistics. Through participation in the program for sustainable frontrunners, Moonen Packaging has already achieved over 65% reduction in CO2 emissions. This surpasses the international climate goals of Paris for 2030, leading to Moonen Packaging being awarded its fourth star in November 2023, as the first company in the Netherlands without its own fleet.
For almost 30 year it is the mission of FSC to recover and protect forests. When FSC-forest management takes place, anywhere in the world, the forest is healthy and alive. This makes FSC-forest management an important instrument against deforestation. By choosing FSC-products you give the forest owner the means to manage the forest sustainably. This also means that forests cannot be converted into areas for palm, oil, soy or livestock farming.
This environmental management system is aimed at controlling and improving our environmental performance. This has given the environment a fixed place in our business operations and it is assessed and audited by DNV, our external audit partner. All Moonen Packaging employees are also aware of our green strategy. They are not only ambassadors, but are also challenged to strengthen our green genes.

The British Retail Consortium (BRC) describes hygiene and food safety requirements for food processing companies that supply directly to the retail sector. As a wholesaler in packaging, Moonen has successfully completed the Storage & Distribution section. This means we meet the food safety requirements of the BRC.
Moonen Packaging is a participant in the Healthy and Safe Warehouse Code. A code that asks us to look critically at so-called "risk hotspots" and to improve them. The goal? An efficiently organized logistics center and a healthy and safe workplace for our employees and guests. We also want to make our business relations aware of the possibilities the code offers to make their own logistics center safer.

At the end of April 2020, the premises of Moonen Packaging in Weert were awarded Energielabel A++++. This is evident from the energy scan commissioned by Nelissen Ingenieursbureau b.v.. The gasless building with solar panels is completely CO2 neutral. These measures have contributed to achieving the highest achievable energy label A++++.
The Moonen Direct webshop has been certified by the Thuiswinkel Certification Foundation. By obtaining this certification, Moonen Packaging shows that its business webshop complies with the 8 certainties on which the Thuiswinkel business certificate is based. Medium-sized and small companies now have the assurance from the industry that they are at the right address with Moonen Packaging as a reliable and professional partner for (sustainable) packaging solutions.
